There are tons of different personalities that are going to come into your health club, and tons of different personalities means that a lot of people are going to want different radio stations.

Some people, usually the hardcore bodybuilders, are going to want to listen to heavy metal and/or rock stations while people such as women and “less hardcore” people might want to listen to Pop, R&B, sometimes even country.

Then of course as the owner you get complaints from the people who can’t listen to what they want to listen to. It’s like babysitting a bunch of kids, isn’t it?

Listen, you can’t give in to the people who complain about a certain radio station. If your staff keeps changing the radio station to try and please everybody in the gym, it’s kind of like a shotgun approach – and the shotgun approach doesn’t work.

My suggestion is that you stick to one radio station – ALL THE TIME. Don’t ever move from that radio station, unless of course they start playing really bad music or go bankrupt or something like that.

Another thing you need to know is that you should never keep the radio in plain view of the members of your health club. They don’t care whether or not you want it changed, they’re going to do it anyway. People unfortunately only care about themselves and they’ll show you that – so don’t even give them the option!

In my health club we have Sirius Radio, keep it on just one station and we hide the receiver so the members couldn’t find it and change the stations on us.

So with that in mind you’re probably asking, “ok well how do I figure out which station to keep it on”. It’s simple really.

Here are 2 options:

1) Do a poll and ask every member of your gym what station they would prefer. Then at the end of the poll, put it to that station and leave it there for good. Make sure you explain to the members why you’re doing this and that the final decision is the final decision. They’ll respect you for doing this because they’ll realize you’re trying to make everyone happy. This is the strategy I recommend.

2) You can also simply pick a radio station that has a mix of genres and plays similar but different music (usually whatever is popular at that time) and leave it on there. You also need to think of what kind of members you have. If you have more of a hardcore gym, put it on a hardcore station. If it’s for average people simply trying to lose a few jean sizes, just put on the type of music popular at that time.

This might not seem like a big deal, but I literally know people who have left clubs just because of the music they played. By learning how to make the most people happy you’re going to keep more members for a longer time and gain their trust at the same time!

A satellite radio is a digital radio signal that is broadcast by a communication satellite, which covers a much wider geographical range than terrestrial radio signals. It is a type of direct broadcast satellite and is strong enough that it requires no satellite dish to receive.

The quality of the broadcasts is higher, the quality of the apparatus’s reception is higher and the general coverage of the channel, that is to say the so-called satellite’s footprint is far greater as well.

Radio signals can travel only about 30 to 40 miles past the transmitter. This is why when you are travelling and you drive too far away from the radio transmitter, it becomes static and eventually you lose the signal completely. Whereas satellite radio signal can be sent to more than 35,000 miles (22000 km), with perfect clarity and sound quality.

Satellite radio service – digital broadcast centers where a huge quantity of music stored – sends songs and material for the satellites in digital format so that the signal is high-quality sound. The signal is encoded inside the satellite and then re-sent for the repeaters antennas, which then sends it to a radio receiver that decodes and plays sounds.

The music tracks are catalogued in a comparable way to the MP3 system, which uses names called ID3 tags. Digital compression is a process here by which material is compressed as much as possible with the quantity of bandwidth available on the channel.

Radio services are usually provided by commercial ventures and are subscription-based. The various services are proprietary signals, requiring specialized hardware for decoding and playback. On purchase of the service, the satellite radio device is programmed into a database that allows users to receive specific radio transmissions from specific satellites.

In order to receive satellite transmissions, you will have to use a special antenna on your decoder. This antenna must be capable of receiving L-band broadcasts for it to be of use. When it comes to building, refurbishing, or simply maintaining a computer, retail prices can really accumulate quickly. Retail prices just aren’t a convenient option to consider for your hardware components, especially if you’re in the IT business, whether it’s home-based, or corporate. Let’s take an HDMI cable, for instance. You might expect to pay around to for one at retail price (some of the longer cables even go for or more). Often times, you can bargain for one of these at a second hand store for much cheaper. This begs the question: “Is a silly cable really worth paying to more?” After all, these hardware parts are donated to many different outlets, and typically resold at a considerably lower price. You will more often find accessories at second hand outlets than your local retail stores. Upon practicing such accommodating habits, one will learn the true value of conservation and realize the deceptively high prices of simple hardware upon entering a retail store. Another common IT component is computer memory modules (or RAM). These are considered the easiest way to upgrade your PC, Mac, or laptop. The process involves simply opening up the side panel of your PC or Mac (all computer cases have their unique way of opening, whether it’s a latch, screws, or thumb screws), locating the memory slots, and directly adding, or replacing the memory modules. Laptops are slightly different since they are compact machines: typically, there’s a panel underneath that you unscrew to gain access to the memory modules. However, you do need to make sure that the modules are compatible with your machine. Many second hand and thrift stores have such items, and is certainly worth checking out. Often times, the owner/manager does not have intuitive knowledge of such items; they might consider them “generic” and you could potentially make a great bargain. When it comes down to it, second hand stores and other similar outlets can be the perfect gateway to saving you lots of money on your IT hardware. There’s usually no need to buy any IT component at retail price when you have such alternatives as this. Also, never be afraid to make an offer for something; this is often overlooked. It’s also worth mentioning that cash is an extremely effective commodity to have on hand due to its immediate value. You can usually great bargains if you approach it the right way.
